spare me

language.
form.
spare me language.
spare me form.

perfect poem
an empty page.
how minimal
can you be?

how much left
to write about,
what’s remains
to share?

spare me language.
spare me form.
spare me what remains
to crow about.

describe the emptiness
behind that white sheet,
that relentless snow
freezing my soul.

so spare me,
who has not the time
to share the beating

of an empty drum.

uber poet

uber poetry
erasing itself line by line,
jumping around as if
independent
of thought,  without direction,
youthful, energetic...
its yearning  like the pink
aurora borealis,
at the bottom, near to earth,
a plaything of the sun,
from charged particles
ionizing the atmosphere
above the tundra lichen.

liken that to the quiet scene
of boys in cutoff pants
and sweet girls in taffeta
watching boys in cutoff pants
throw  stones flattened
by glacial rivers,  here now
after a million years, there
selected, drawn and tossed again
this time by children
who ionize the waters
with multiples of of landings
and takeoffs that leave
trails of rippling circles,
the disturbance of calm.
who?
the uber poet asks,
who

threw the first stone?

DEADLINE EXTENDED:
The deadline for entries for Ragazine’s first fund-raising contest, “Speculative Fiction by People of Color,” has been extended to September 20, 2013.  If you haven’t entered already, there’s still time to do so. Ragazine.CC is an independent e-zine. We publish pretty much whatever we like, but we’ve worked diligently to ensure the work you find in Ragazine.CC will be as much worth your while to read as it was for the author to create and the editors to pull together.
